Senior Python Developer

HiQ is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join the API implementation team of our finance-sector client.

Please note that this position requires fluency in written and spoken Finnish.

Role:

Daily tasks revolve around developing features for and maintaining a containerized FastAPI solution. This role is highly self-directed and requires initiative, accountability, and confidence in making design decisions. As the API cloud infrastructure is being migrated from AWS to Azure, we are looking for someone who can participate in planning and implementing the new architecture with Terraform. The application stack is facing production launch; therefore, CI/CD and production grade application development experience are expected as well.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Advanced knowledge of Python language
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and designing APIs (preferably with FastAPI but other frameworks and languages can be considered too)
  • Experience with cloud services and IaC, especially Azure and Terraform
  • Understanding of Docker and containerization
  • Skilled in SQL
  • Strong problem-solving skills, team player mentality, and good communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Finnish

Beneficial:

  • Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and data engineering in general
  • Proficiency in developing CI/CD pipelines: packaging, deployment, and moving solution to production (Azure, Terraform)
  • DevOps experience, developing logging and monitoring solutions for APIs

Assignment information:

  • Start: asap
  • Duration: until 31.12.2026
  • Allocation: 100 %
  • Location: Helsinki, hybrid (estimation of onsite work: 1-2 days/week + when needed)
