New Ramirent intranet – one communication channel for all

Ramirent’s new intranet brings together employees from nine countries and enables communication across the organization. The new Microsoft 365 based modern SharePoint intranet was implemented by HiQ Finland.

Earlier there were no common communication channels in Ramirent and countries were acting more in silos. There were also three Microsoft 365 environments in the organization. The goal was to bring all Ramirent users to the same environment and to utilize same communication and collaboration tools. In addition to intranet, Yammer enables open discussions and Teams is a common collaboration tool for all.

For global and local communication

The new intranet has a global hub that is common for all. All countries also have their own hubs with their own language. News are published globally and locally: common news are visible in global hub and in country hubs next to the local news. One goal for the intranet project was also to decentralize the news publishing process. Now the topic owners can easily share their news and communicate directly to the rest of the organization.

Terhi Jokinen, the Project Manager for Ramirent, is happy with the new intranet especially because of the news concept, modern look and feel and easy mobile use. Also, content creation is easy. HiQ held a training for Ramirent content editors and after that the content creation proceeded well.

"Modern SharePoint is intuitive and logic, so one training was enough to get almost all the content editors in", says Jokinen.

Smooth implementation project

Intranet implementation project with HiQ proceeded smoothly and in planned schedule.

It was easy to trust team HiQ because all team members had clear roles and the project manager held things together. The intranet was launched perfectly on time despite the challenging corona spring.
