Membership supports HiQ’s strategic investment in digital defence technology and strengthens collaboration with leading players in the industry. The ecosystem offers a unique opportunity to develop and share expertise within the defence sector.

In recent years, global geopolitical changes have highlighted the importance of defence technology. The current geopolitical situation challenges all of Europe to invest in defence. In particular, the demand for advanced digital defence solutions has increased. The Digital Defence Ecosystem (DDE) is a network that connects Finland’s leading defence and technology companies as well as research institutions, enabling the joint development of new digital defence solutions for international markets.

At the core of the ecosystem is the idea that collaboration between civilian and defence technology actors creates new opportunities for all participants and offers innovative, agile development paths tailored to the needs of the sector. DDE also supports Finnish technology companies in entering the highly competitive global defence markets and strengthens national security by ensuring the supply security of the defence industry.

By joining the network, HiQ becomes even more closely connected to both the Finnish and European defence industries. The company has extensive experience in digital solutions for the sector. Defence and security are strategic growth areas for HiQ. Among other projects, HiQ has been developing fighter jet simulators for Saab since the 1990s. HiQ’s customer base includes several leading defence and aerospace companies such as Airbus and Saab, as well as public authorities like the Finnish Defence Forces and the Swedish Coast Guard. Additionally, HiQ is a NATO-approved technology provider, making it part of the alliance’s procurement channels on the international market. HiQ brings strong expertise to the network, particularly in software development, digitalization, and cybersecurity.

Joining the Digital Defence Ecosystem strengthens HiQ’s role in the defence and security sector. Collaboration with the network gives us the opportunity to develop new digital defence solutions and to learn from top-tier organizations in the field. We are committed to advancing Finland’s digital defence capabilities and look forward to the cooperation.
