The Red Button application implemented by HiQ for Football Players' Association is now in international use

HiQ designed and implemented a mobile application for the Football Players’ Association of Finland (JPY), supporting the protection of JPY´s members’ interests and preventing irregularities in the league. The app allows players to anonymously report match-fixing approaches.

HiQ was responsible for the design and implementation of the project, from concept development to testing. The application has been supported and maintained by HiQ until spring 2020. At the beginning of 2020, the Red Button application was transferred to the International Players Association FIFPRO.

FIFPRO and FIFA have signed a collaboration agreement endorsing a smartphone app that allows professional footballers to anonymously report match-fixing approaches.

The Red Button app is distributed globally to players through its affiliated national player associations. App is built with technology that ensures no trace of a report is left on player´s smartphones.

"Red Button application is a great example of how modern technology can be utilized to truly serve the well-being of people. We are very pleased to have been involved in this exceptional project”, says Jukka Rautio, Managing Director of HiQ Finland.
