Over 100 000 users have transferred to use the mobile app. The Snarveien mobile application provides users with service and convenience when visiting St1's Shell stations in Norway. HiQ provided St1 with the application, taking responsibility for everything ranging from concept and user experience design to actual implementation, testing, maintenance and further development.

Customers are brought back to the app daily and repeatedly by the services it provides. For Snarveien most effective of these services is redeeming a cup of coffee enabled by the unlimited coffee for a year purchased by the customer for a one-time fee. In addition to coffee the app provides for example tools for paying (ApplePay) and even redeeming local Trumf benefits. The repeated use makes the application also an effective channel for St1 to communicate about new benefits and offers.
Mobile apps make it possible not only to copy but also to change and improve existing practices and processes. In Snarveien, this was achieved by digitalising the unlimited coffee service offered commonly to customers by Norwegian service stations. As a forerunner in Norway, Snarveien's digital coffee contract offers customers better value for money than its competitors. First, when using the application the contract can be started at any time for a 12-month period instead of being tied to the calendar year, offering the customer pure monetary value. Also if the app is in use, user is no longer restricted to redeeming the benefit with particular mug.

As with the Finnish and Swedish apps, also in Snarveien, customers can apply for St1 MasterCard directly in the application. iOS users can also instantly add a card to Apple Wallet and use it on Apple Play, enabling the easiest mobile payments on the market. In addition, the account can be linked to a user's Trumf loyalty account, whereby fuel and car washes with Shell also accrue Trumf bonuses.
The app also offers its users the best deals and discounts. This makes it easy for the customer to check and take advantage of current offers at that station while taking advantage of their coffee offer. This transforms the application a digital marketplace supporting St1's core business. Of course, the app features other familiar but important features, such as locations, making it easy to find nearby Shell stations and see their opening hours, contacts, and services.
